Flying calidrids: What do you think of this then?

Teluk Air Tawar_260213_IMG_7619The bottom (complete) bird that is. I took the shot today in Penang, and came across it as I was examining my pictures this evening. Any thoughts?

  1. I could do with a nice large crop of the head of this one but based on this picture I wthink you are on to something here… Although there seems to be a little greysh smudge on the side of the bill, the shape of bill-tip just looks too good to be caused by caked mud. Longbilled, deep billbase, legs seem to project quite far beyond the tail, prominent pale supercillium, the rest of the head and breastpattern looks ok as well. I think you may have to return there tomorrow David.
